Geo Technician

This is a career opportunity with a Texas independent oil & gas production company that is both financially strong and particularly well managed. The company is in search of an outstanding person who seeks a long term career growth opportunity.

Candidate has 5 - 10 years of experience (not 20 years, not 1 year) with a single company, and can demonstrate progressive growth in job responsibility with GIS and related mapping technology. The candidate has a background in math, physics, mapping, geology, or geography

The position offers:

Job Duties:

1) Support geologists and geoscientists

2) Build data bases using large volumes of well data

3) Use successfully complex mapping software packages that may include digital data, satellite mapping, and the layering of maps, etc.

Job Requirements:

1) Solid background in math, physics, geology, or geography:

associate's degree is OK, a 4-year bachelor's degree is preferred

2) MUST be currently employed in a similar role

3) A record of progressive career complexity and achievement in GIS

4) Being detail-oriented a must
