Instrument Engineer, Commissioning Support

A major oil and gas company is looking for an Instrument Engineer - Commissioning Support to join their team in Qatar.

Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing the scope of instrument commissioning activities for the Project. After Mechanical Acceptance he will be responsible for supporting commissioning and start-up of the Facilities.
Within these areas of responsibility he/she will be required to:
- Ensure Project and Company safety standards are met or exceeded.
- Coordinate and provide instrument engineering expertise to ensure that the plant is safely commissioned and will function in accordance with the established project specifications and standards.
- Monitor and drive the activities of outside vendors, contractors, and consultants responsible for commissioning various systems under Project agreements.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Professionally-qualified Engineer with qualifications in the Process, Electrical or Electronic Engineering disciplines
- At least 10 - 15 years Instrument and Control experience, including significant relevant experience on large multi-national and multi-location projects.

Significant on-site experience in one or more of the following areas is required:
- Instrument and Control System testing, installation and commissioning.
- Process control and measurement
- Foundation Fieldbus specification, design and operation
- HART communication

The position requires an ability to liaise effectively at all organizational levels and to represent the Project on Instrument related matters.

The incumbent shall also:
- Be able to cope in a positive and productive manner within a high-pressure environment as expected in a large Project with an aggressive schedule.
- Have knowledge and experience in personal computing skills, including MS Outlook and Microsoft's Windows Office suite of applications.
