AGRICULTURE SPECIALIST
Education & Experience
Minimum bachelor degree in Business, Agriculture or a related science is required
Minimum 8 Years experience working with NGO, donor agency or agriculture food related business. Delivering agriculture programs in rural areas with field-based experience is necessary. Papua experience would be an added plus
Incumbent will posses a broad range of experience and will have: demonstrated ability to exercise judgment without upward referral, front line leadership exposure, and good overall understanding of best practice in agriculture assistance and desired standards and methodologies
Experience working with government agencies, strengthening farmer/fisher groups and/or cooperatives and designing, implementing, and managing integrated farming systems involving the horizontal and vertical integration of crops, livestock, trees and aquaculture is necessary
Must have a sound understanding of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP), the four pillars of which are economic viability, environmental sustainability, social acceptability and food safety and quality
