Risk Manager

A Major Operator requires a Risk Manager to join them in the Project Services Group on a 4-5 year project hire in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Implementing the Risk Management plan across the JV into all disciplines, the intent of this role is to increase the likelihood of achieving Project objectives in terms of safety, cost, schedule and opportunities while minimizing Project threats through the management of risk probability and the associated consequences.

Reporting to the Project Services Manager the main responsibilities will be to:

• Develop and implement systems, policies and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk
• Owner of the Risk Management Plan
• Develop Risk Registers
• Evaluate Risks of significance by estimating the risk impact to HSE, Cost, Schedule and Operability
• Define Risk Mitigation Strategies
• Risk Mitigation strategies include but are not limited to: Elimination of risk, reduction of risk impact to the project, sharing the impact of risk and identify / communicate risk with the JV
• Implement approved mitigation strategies and maintain risk registers
• Incorporate risk lessons learned and best practices to be used to mitigate risk which are identified
• Educates and trains the leadership, staff and business associates as to the risk management program, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out risk management

Suitable candidates will have
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university with minimum fifteen (15) years of project and engineering management experience in the oil/gas industry
• Experience on large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects
• Has clearly demonstrated leadership competence
• Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
• Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation
