QC Inspector, Piping/Welding - Petrofac International Ltd

Scope of Responsibilities:

Works as a part of a team of Inspectors and Engineers in ensuring the adherence of the project to client requirements as well as preset quality standards with regards to all piping activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Study and understand the project scope and specifications as well as the ITP's and Method statements with respect paining and insulation.
* Receive the RFI (Request for Inspection) from the discipline staff and carry out the inspection of the painting and insulation as per the ITP, identify any discrepancies and generate the Non Conformance Report.
* Support pre fabrication activities for the pipes in the areas of, drawings, specifications, as well as the right use of valves.
* Carry out the mechanical inspection after the line has been fully installed and generate the punch list with the A,B and C category items clearly and initiate the hydro testing procedure.
* Oversee the hydro testing process including the selection of joints as per ITP, identifying the test limits ensuring the usage of proper gauges.
* Carry out inspection of work in progress including checking if the right procedure is followed for the piping as well as the check for the qualification of the piping personnel and the kind of materials being used for the process.
* Coordinate with the discipline engineers to ensure corrective action on the above thereby ensuring the closure of the NC's raised.
* Ensure that necessary levels of reliability in equipment and systems are reached by the correct specification of requirements through to proper installation, commissioning and test.
* Report any major Quality issues to the Quality Manager of the Project Management Team.
* Coordinate with the Project's Safety, Environment and certification engineer and ensure that all statutory requirements are met.
* Plan and direct internal and external quality audits as well as analyse the results, issue audit reports followed by the assessment, monitoring and verification of the implementation of corrective actions.
* Review of all certification and documentation to ensure validity and compliance with specifications, drawings, manufacturing and inspection test plans.
* Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports on the quality status of all activities with their schedule for completion.
* Carry out any other duties as and when required.


Qualification:

Mechanical Engineering Diploma, CSWIP (preferred) level 2(formally3. 1),AWS CSWI. Minimum of 12 years experience of which 1 year to be post qualification. Experience of the pre fabrication installation and testing of process piping.
