Geologist - Senior [Geomodeler] (offshore Platform)

A major oil & gas producer is looking for a Senior Geologist/Geomodeler for their offshore platform project on yearly extendable contract to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

You will:

- Carry out seismic interpretation and mapping including stratigraphic and trace attribute interpretation
- Apply quantitative interpretation techniques such as seismic reservoir characterization and AVO analysis, seismic inversion to optimize exploration , appraisal and development of hydrocarbon pools
- Provide geophysics support to well drilling operations
- Provide input to reservoir delineation, resource assessment, geological modeling and field development planning
- Extends geophysical interpretation methods that have been calibrated against existing developed field data into adjacent areas with development potential
- Provide management support information for the compilation of regular progress reports, project status and presentation to Management, partners and Government agencies
- Provide training and mentoring for technical knowledge and skills development for more junior geophysicists

You will ideally possess a first (or advanced) degree in Geology/Geophysics/Geoscience or equivalent with at least 15y experience in oil & gas exploration & production on new ventures/field development.

You will have:
- Demonstrable skills in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and mapping using latest industry applications, with advanced level workstation skills in 3D seismic interpretation;
- Skill in seismic data calibration, reservoir characterization, and hydrocarbon detection; applied geophysical experience in working with cross-functional teamson reservoir and field development activities associated with stacked oil & gas plays;
- Good working knowledge in geology with emphasis on structural and stratigraphic interpretation skills; - Good understanding of seismic data acquisition and processing methods inoffshore settings along with their impact on data interpretation accuracy and validity;
- Demonstrated experience in presenting seismic interpretation analysis & results to Management, Partners and Government Agencies
- Fluent command of English in both oral and quality technical report-writing communication skill
