Plant Manager – LLDPE Manufacturing Operations

Our client is one of India’s largest diversified conglomerates with interest in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Logistics & Distribution and other businesses. The group has recorded phenomenal growth over the past few decades and has emerged as a global player in several segments of its businesses.

Our client wishes to strengthen its existing teams in key areas. For one of its plants, it is looking for a senior professional to join the team as :


Position : Plant Manager – LLDPE Manufacturing Operations

Location : Major City, South Asia


Responsibilities :
The selected candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation and achieve targeted production and quality parameters in the most optimal and safe manner.
Specific responsibilities include :
* To ensure that Standard Operating Procedures/Conditions are properly Maintained & Implemented.
* Ensuring maintenance of Safety Standard / Practices by regular interaction with personnel at the time of job execution.
* Ensuring effective training & validation of plant personnel for its smooth functioning.
* Plan for major shutdown / turnaround maintenance, process cleaning activities & implement in consultation with Maintenance / CES / CTS
* To ensure the upkeep of equipment by effective co-ordination with the maintenance team.
* Monitoring, prompt decision making and taking remedial measures to achieve production targets by ensuring optimal use of various inputs into the process.
* To ensure that the fire protection systems are in good condition in the plant.
* Ensure that the interlocks checking are done periodically.
* Ensure availability of PSVs & TSVs as per schedule for preventive maintenance.
* Ensure that all the documents related to Plant Safety Systems are updated regularly.
* Ensure maintenance of BSC checklists as per schedules.
* To ensure operating parameters within defined limits and to take prompt & timely decisions when they are out of limits and ensure product quality.
* To analyze customer complaints if any and address the root causes to ensure zero complaint.
* Provide technical inputs, guidance, training, sharing of experience/ideas and by motivation.
* Adequate participation in their concerns and drawing joint action plan to mitigate the problems.
* Building team spirit and providing technical inputs to team and guiding them on solution of recurring problems.
* To initiate, mentor and implement the findings of the six sigma projects.
* To ensure risk assessment, task based risk assessment and adhering to all the safety norms while executing the jobs.
* Ensuring statutory certifications of the facilities required for running the plant smoothly.
* To carry RESOP audits and contractor field audits and implement the RESOP observations to ensure safe working.
* To implement, monitor & ensure Audit for PSM elements in the plant.
* Ensure implementation of various Capex projects & MOCs, 5s, Dupont safety resources. Integrated materials management system, project health check, work management in the plant from planning to execution.
* Planning for jobs to be taken in shutdown.
* Co-ordination with Engineering & Maintenance Department for shutdown related activities and ensure completion of jobs in time.
* To sure proper Monitoring of raw materials consumption and proper & sound analysis in case of deviation.
* To ensure all the procedures of IMS (QMS, EMS & OHSAS) and ensure adherence to current practices.


Requirements :
* Ideal candidates will be engineering graduates from premier institutes with at least 20 years of experience in operations and engineering of large and complex petrochemicals plants.
* They should have in-depth knowledge and expertise in global best practices, world-class systems, models, tools and techniques. They should be familiar with leading large teams of technical and operations professionals.
* Strong Leadership, Analytical, Planning & Execution, Communication, Interpersonal and Conflict Resolution skills will be essential for success in this role.
